Christmas is approaching, and people are busy looking for suitable gifts for loved ones. When we enter the gift shop, we find that the Titanium water bottle is shining alongside the stainless-steel ones, which are 4-5 times more expensive and often come with more sophisticated packaging. Why are they so expensive? We stare at these Titanium bottles and cannot look away. Part of our brain is like, that price is unbelievable. But the other part is just, it is so shiny and sleek! We pick one up… and that's when it hits you… This bottle is crazy light.
Then we know,
Why choose Titanium?

lighter weight
Titanium is about 56% lighter than stainless steel. In your hand, that translates from 'water container' to 'companion'. But the lightness is not a lack of strength, according to the essence of its high strength-to-density ratio. That's the reason why it is usually applied in aerospace.

Safety and health
When talking about drinkware, we are talking about safety and health. Titanium has excellent corrosion resistance and no rust with common chemicals and acids. Besides, Titanium will not leach chemicals or alter the taste of the liquid in the bottle. This means a lot to the health-conscious users, including parents and sensitive individuals.

Biocompatible
Also, Titanium is widely used in medical implants since it is highly inert and a proven biocompatible metal, guaranteeing supreme safety and compatibility with the human body.

Built for fire
Moreover, the titanium is built for fire and can be used as cookware when camping, this is because it has a very high melting point (over 1,660°C / 3,020°F), a campfire (typically 600-800°C) is no threat at all, with no worrying about it melting, warping, or leaching toxic chemicals (a real concern with some aluminum or non-stick coatings).
Once again, we take a glance at the price tag, well, compared to the light bottle weight, the price is not 'so light'...
Why Titanium so Expensive?
Hard to obtain
Due to the scarcity, Titanium is not just lying around. The main titanium ore (ilmenite or rutile) is harder to find and mine in concentrated amounts. Also, it is an energy hog: Turning that ore into pure, usable titanium sponge (the first step) requires a crazy amount of energy in massive furnaces.
Hard to manufacture
Titanium is a dream material for a water bottle, but a headache for manufacturers. It is actually a tool killer, and factories need more specially-made and expensive working tools to process this stubborn artist.
Skilled worker needed
During the manufacturing process, Titanium requires an incredibly skilled welder with slower production speeds, a more stringent working environment. In contrast, stainless steel is much easier and straightforward.
Thus currently in China only several manufacturers are proficient in Titanium bottles, including GINT and Red Earth.

Titanium is not a replacement for our stainless-steel ones (SUS304 stainless steel still dominates mainstream markets because it can meet most lifestyle situation). Titanium is an upgrade for when weight, purity, and product lifetime matter most. We are purchasing a tool that's closer to aerospace engineering than simple household items.
Titanium has futuristic dull grey sheen, with luxury style with advanced surface treatments. So it is always shine on the shelves.
Indeed, it is a gorgeous and dazzling high-end Christmas gift.
